"Big Time" Answers

Jimmy I had the unique opportunity to speak with Jimmy "Big Time." Here is what he had to say about hunting, his life and his show.

  1. When did Jimmy Miller first go Big Time?
Out of the womb. I was tagged out upon entry into this world. Our local Minnesota paper spent a whole section of that day’s birth announcements on my momma’s labor.   I was so Big Time, the doctor wouldn’t slap me after I was born – out of respect.
  2. I understand that you've actually broken the World Record for Whitetail deer several times, but have not had it officially recorded out of respect for Milo Hanson. Does the outdoor community completely comprehend the depths of your generosity?
Milo Hanson was great as one of the brothers in the movie ‘Slapshot,’ but let’s be honest, he couldn’t measure up a cup of sugar.  Jimmy Big Time has broken every record out there, and I can’t help that there was no photographic evidence, camera, witnesses, verification of any kind – or that I lost the actual trophy buck itself each time on the way back to the truck.  Fact is, I did it. I know I did it. I don’t need records to define me, except for my 8-track of John Denver’s Greatest Hits. I love that one.

Maxxis Headlines Hoyt’s 2010 Bow Lineup

Hoyt Maxxis 2010Some said it would be impossible to top the AlphaMax. Hoyt’s engineers didn’t listen. Meet the all-new 2010 Hoyt Maxxis. Undoubtedly the industry’s top hunting compound for 2010, Maxxis marks a radical advancement in Hoyt engineering and performance. This masterpiece of Hoyt craftsmanship is poised to dominate the archery world with cutting-edge design and unheard of standards of performance and reliability.

Maxxis advances the Hoyt legacy with the all-new, past-parallel, laminated XTS ARC Limb System – engineered to utterly kill vibration and produce an unbelievably smooth shot. ARC Limb Technology features incredibly high energy storage in a recoil-free, beyond-parallel configuration that increases speed and still provides for legendary Hoyt reliability. XTS ARC limbs deliver an extra quiet and super smooth shot, and they enhance dynamic cam alignment through the powerstroke for total accuracy and a sweet shot with blistering speed.

Maxxis also features an innovative, patent-pending, In-Line roller cable guard that reduces friction, increases speed and improves efficiency with a lightweight, durable, low profile design. Exclusive advanced bearing technology and in-line rollers work in concert with the rigging on Maxxis bows to increase efficiency – delivering higher speed, lower energy loss and whisper quiet performance.

The perfectly balanced, smooth-shooting Maxxis is light, sleek, fast and tough, and delivers a lengthy list of other purpose-built technologies, including Hoyt’s exquisitely sculpted, high strength TEC LITE Riser, XTR Cam & ½ Performance System, and popular 180 PRO-FIT Grip.

Maxxis 35 offers the same unprecedented performance as the Maxxis 31, but in a longer, 35” axle-to-axle version. Like its 31” counterpart, Maxxis 35 is stacked with Hoyt-exclusive innovation and technologies.

The much-anticipated Maxxis promises to be the top bow of 2010. See your Hoyt dealer - and log on to www.hoyt.com - for complete details.
