This year, Legacy Sports continues supporting U.S. service men and women, and the Wounded Warrior Project by sponsoring a shooting team of wounded warriors at the 29th Annual HOAG Charity Shoot with a donation of $5,000.00. Mr. Lumsden also shot with this team, made up of veterans of the Global War on Terror.
Continuing its support of WWP, Legacy Sports has again designed a commemorative firearm for 2010 in a richly etched Citadel M-1911-A1, and includes special, commemorative packaging. For each gun sold, $25.00 will be donated to WWP to support our returning wounded veterans. According to Mr. Lumsden, LSI hopes to sell enough of these pistols, to raise $25,000.00 for WWP this year.
Finally, the ESGR (Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve) of Arlington, VA has announced that Mr. Lumsden, President and CEO of Legacy Sports International has been selected as one of 30 national finalists in their 2010 Secretary of Defense Employer Support Freedom Award. The award is the U.S. Government’s highest recognition given to employers for exceptional support of their employees serving in the Guard and Reserve. Legacy Sports International/Mr. Lumsden was selected from over 2,500 Nevada employers, and thousands more employers nationwide for this honor. Fifteen recipients will be selected by a board of senior defense officials, business leaders and prior Freedom Award recipients on September 23, 2010. Since its inception in 1996, only 130 companies have been presented with this prestigious award.
